Trust Your Self

One of my clients is about to do something really difficult that she has been preparing for years to do. I can see she is ready. Beyond ready, in fact. However, she is still feeling a lot of fear, trepidation, and self doubt. I told her that she needed to keep repeating over and over again to herself— “I can do this.” “Write it on your arm if you need to!,” I offered.

Many people in the world are going through a period of fear. Some are afraid of getting covid, while others are afraid of losing their freedom to mandates. As a collective, we are going through a period of self-doubt. Can we get through this? How do we get through this? What will we look like on the other side?

On a personal level, I’ve also been in transition. My husband quit his job and departed a week ago for the wilderness of northern Montana to cycle the Great Divide Mountain Biking Route from Canada to Mexico. Craving more purpose in his life, he struck out on a spiritual journey repeatedly telling me, “I want parts of me to die out there.” He intends to be gone for a few months. He was excited, yet terrified. I was too.

I’ve been reflecting on the qualities that allow us to move through fear, self-doubt, and transition. Courage, clarity, perseverance, and self-confidence are all important. However, the depth of what has been whispering to me is a feeling beyond personal identity or positive self-talk. It’s a sense at the core of our essence that knows the mysterious nature of the world is always based in and leading us to greater levels of love.

It is trust.

Trust that I can do this. Trust that we can get through this. Trust that all will unfold as it is supposed to.

I have a magnet on my refrigerator that says, “What if you just KNEW that everything was working out perfectly?” I often pause and consider how holding that knowing in my body would shift my current mindset or actions.

Trust is powerful. It’s a game changer because it says that we are relying on a deeper Truth than the ever-shifting winds of superficial life. Trust points us to understanding that the core of our being is a presence that cannot be created or destroyed. It simply is. It allows, it loves, and it is strong enough to move through times of joy as well as times of challenge.

Trust says that we have faith in a higher guiding force of the universe. Call it God or Natural Law or nothing at all. The important thing is that you feel it— not because your human mind can logically determine what the future holds— but because your ESSENCE has awakened to a faith in the All That Is. You ARE the All That Is. So have faith and trust in yourself… because I promise you ARE the MOST reliable Source of Love in the entire universe.

Blessings,

Kelley
